The most famous alpine road of Austria takes you to the center of the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern, to the highest mountain of Austria, the Großglockner (3798mtr) and its glacier, the Pasterze. On 48km of high alpine road with 36 hairpin bends with a high rise up until 2504mtr a very special nature and driving experience awaits you. Experience the impressive reservoir lakes at 2200mtr. In the middle of the impressive mountains of the Hohe Tauern you will find the reservoir lakes Mooserboden and Wassefallboden. The Mooser dam measures 107mtrs in height and nearly 500mtr wide – enjoy the huge reservoir lakes at the height of 2000mtrs. The High Ropes Course of Neukirchen is the largest of its kind in the holiday region Nationalpark Hohe Tauern with 30 stations between 8 and 25mtr high, to keep your nerves and balance with the help of the trainer of the high ropes course and mountain guide to traverse the course successfully. The High Ropes Course in Saalbach Hinterglemm (45min drive): The largest High Ropes Course in Europe with a total length of more than 8km, 200 different stops and 30 rope slides. In the heart of the end of the valley of Saalbach Hinterglemm a High Ropes Course is located in the middle of an impressive mountain world. Enjoy the experience space “Wald, Almen und Berge” for a new perspective. Climb over several rope and bridge constructions and fly with up to 700mtr length of rope slide over the Glemm valley. Outdoor and Indoor: Various climbs in various difficulties III until X invite you make wonderful climbs in the area around the Mountainhotel Rudolfshütte in the Weißsee Getscherwelt in Uttendorf. Kristallklettersteig: Technically and conditionally extreme demanding, difficulty assessment E ! The most difficult via ferrata of Austria with a length of 400mtr / Height difference of 150mtr / rope sections approx. 20pcs. Characteristic: compact rock, small TR crossways, piers and transition time for the via ferrata 1,5 – 3,5 hours, depending physical condition and ability. Little Yosemite Climbing park, Hans-gruber-weg: optimally secured, ideal training area for children and adults. Difficulty: III up to upper VIII, very suitable for the whole family (tope-rope). Indoor Climbing Rudolfshütte and climbing hall: approx.. 300 m2 climbing area, height 14mtr, difficulty up to VIII, ideal training area for adults and children. Boulderpark Uttendorf: The boulderpark perfectly fits into the idyllic landscape and the beautiful rocks offer various climbs. The parcours exists of 10 granite boulder blocks. There are no limits in defining new lines.
Salzburg & Innsbruck
Salzburg is a world famous city although relatively small: the silhouette of the Fortress of Salzburg and the towers of the churches of the enchanting baroque city on the northern edge of the alps. So beautiful that the city is part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage for quite some time. The sights of Salzburg are among the most famous of the world. Innsbruck, already two times host of the Olympics (1964 and 1976) is known for its’ sporting facilities. As no other city in Europe, both in winter and in summer Innsbruck offers their guests a very wide range of sights; the Golden Roof, the National Tirol Theatre, the Hofburg and the Ferdinandeum as well a the Zoo of the Alps high above the rooftops of the city with approx. 1500 animals. The Crystal worlds of Swarovski where the transformation is shown from the underground adventure world to how the crystal symbols renovation, change to the flowing transition of geometric shapes, colour and sound. Museums in the region
Mittersill: The unique 1800m2 alpine world experience. The Hohe Tauern Nationa Park with the highest peaks of Austria (Großglockner with 3798mtr and a further 266 summits over 3000mtr) 342 glaciers and one of the most impressive waterfalls of the world as well as its’ inhabitants as ibex and chamois seem close enough to touch. Ten stations can be explored, which are presented like a hike from one station to the next in order to discover and understand the exceptional diversity of the National Park Hohe Tauern. In the Felberturmmuseum lots of exhibits are shown of the rural craftsmanship, folk culture and regional customs. The mineral show with treasures of the National Park Hohe Tauern area and a historic, 19th century class room both are remarkable. Krimml: The Waterfalls of Krimml are the highest of Europe and the fifth highest around the world. Starting point for a visit to this gigantic natural spectacle is the museum of the WasserWunderWelten. Bramberg: In the Museum of the homeland of Bramberg you can see lots of particularities of the village of Bramberg and its’ region as well as the pictures of the famous painter Jozef Stoitzner. The Bee exhibition in the attic is also woth visiting. Next to the museum is a large outdoor area with Mills, Kiln, Hacksaw, cabins where rakes were made and a very interesting mining department.
The pulse of the city is loud and strong. Kitzbühel, the number one sportcity in the heart of the Alps unites tradition and lifestyle like no other city. The Kitzbühel’ myth not only includes the unique charm, but also the sportive energy of the city, as well as the top hotels and gastronomy give Kitzbühel the status of prominent Hot Spot in the Alpine region. Embedded between the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Hahnenkamm the Kitzbühel region shows its sporty side. The various possibilities for sporting activities in the dreamlike Nature combined with the historical city centre with an almost sophisticated flair of the shops, completes the city as an allrounder with its charm and profile. The excellent restaurants, small cafés and bars, the discos, the casino and the cinema complete the varied offer of Kitzbühel.
Zell am See
The small city of Zell am See with approx. 9.900 inhabitants was a market place until 1928. Since nearly 100 years they may call itself a city. Fresh air and crystal clear water: a visit to Zell am See is relaxing and promotes health – since 1961 the little city is a climatic health resort. The Lake of Zell is known for its drinking water quality. Their most important mountain is the Schmittenhöhe with its height of 2000mtrs which you can easily visit by cable car.
